  • 15–20 mm focal bead
  • 10–20 4–10 mm beads, assorted shapes and sizes
  • 10–20 spacers, assorted shapes and sizes
  • 8–12 mm bead cap
  • 11 in. (28 cm) 3⁄4–1 1⁄4-in. (1.9–3.2 cm) ribbon
  • 6 2-in. (5 cm) head pins
  • 2 5–6 mm jump rings
  • 2 16–19 mm ribbon ends (Fire Mountain Gems and Beads,
  • chainnose and roundnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters

1. Cut an 11-in. (28 cm) piece of ribbon. On each end, fold over 1⁄4 in. (6 mm) of ribbon. Use chainnose pliers to close a ribbon end over the fold.

2a. On a head pin, string one or two spacers, a focal bead, a bead cap, and two or three beads or spacers. Make a wrapped loop.

2b. On another head pin, string three to nine beads and spacers. Make a wrapped loop. Repeat with the remaining beads and head pins.

3. Open a jump ring and attach a ribbon end and the bead units from step 2b. Close the jump ring. On the other end, use a jump ring to attach the focal-bead unit from step 2a.
